In light of the health risks represented by the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the recent state of emergency declared in a growing number of states and the travel bans being imposed by many companies in our industry, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Risk & Compliance Summit in Chicago, IL from April 5-7, 2020. We understand that the Risk & Compliance Summit offers a vital forum to hear from and interact with industry thought leaders and luminaries. Therefore, we will be investigating alternative ways to deliver some of this valuable content to you throughout 2020. For more than 30 years, Cindy has served as regulatory counsel to national and state-chartered banks, mortgage lenders and mortgage servicers.  Cindy joined Freedom Mortgage in 2011  to assume the newly created role of  in-house regulatory counsel. She and her team are  responsible for providing regulatory support to all of the company’s lines of business through a robust compliance program that includes: regulatory change management, formal compliance policies and procedures,  structured compliance training, compliance monitoring and testing,  consumer complaint analysis and managing regulatory exams. At the direction of Freedom’s CEO, Cindy partnered with the company’s information technology team to embed compliance controls  in Freedom’s  proprietary loan origination system and, later, in the servicing system of record.  In this way, Freedom’s loan origination and servicing systems contain a comprehensive quality assurance function that is operational at all times. Cindy leads a dedicated team of regulatory counsel and compliance professionals who strive to maintain regulatory compliance throughout the Freedom enterprise.
